One Day to Final Pre-surgery Weigh-in

Tuesday, February 09, 2010

Where did three and a half months go? It seems like just yesterday I was given my surgery date and now I'm just a week away and have my final weigh-in on Wednesday morning. Today starts the liquid diet so the fridge has been cleared of the things that I can't have.

Now the nerves are starting to set in and I'm starting to get a little worried about the surgery. Not that I don't have faith in my surgeon and his entire team.

I must be crazy to be going on vacation for part of my liquid diet week - but on the positive side, it's something that I enjoy so maybe I won't be thinking about what I can't eat. And being an indoor exhibition for agriculture I'm sure that I'll get in LOTS of walking. Hopefully it's warmer in Louisville than it is at home! Sounds like it could be a fun drive down on Wednesday though - if only the snow were yesterday, not tomorrow!

I can't wait for the first day of the rest of my life!

Everyone is a little nervous. I was less worried about the surgery than the fear of failure even with surgery. We all have our vulnerabilities, we just have to keep moving toward our goal.

You will do great with your liquid diet and with your surgery. The first day or two are a bit of work, don't get me wrong, but it can be done and you can do it!!! Before you know it .....

Good luck, hope your specialist gives you good service with post operation nutrition help. This is the most important thing to problem free eating efter the operation. hugs Rena
