Cake Victory

Thursday, February 04, 2010

My aunt asked me to make a baby shower cake for my cousin and his girlfriends baby shower. It's hard not to eat the leveled off cake or lick the extra icing when making a cake. I normally only make cakes for my kids or other immediate family members. I do enjoy decorating even if i'm not the best at it - so I said yes.

I did NOT get into the extra cake or icing, I am proud! hah

..and if you want to see to cake i'm uploading it. The blocks are not cake - they are rice krispy treats that spell out Baby over the top and "Emalyn" the baby's name along the side of the blocks.

    emoticon on your victory! emoticon

My sis & her husband used to make cakes for thier kids when they were small. They had Care Bears shapes, pirates ships, tropical islands, you name it. The kids loved it! Sis made the cake and icing, BIL manned the decorator tube thingamagiggy! (how can you tell that I don't know how to decorate cakes ha ha)

Your polar bear is beautiful (but don't tell him that lol)

It's a wonderful cake, and your cousin & his girlfriend will greatly appreciate it! Also, congratualtions on not eating the icing! That's also hard for me. My mother used to make and decorate cakes for all occasions, and it looks like your skills are similar to hers. Way to go! emoticon
