A beautiful FAll Weekend!!!!!!

We had a good busy weekend. The weather was absolutely beautiful so we definitely took advantage of it. My son and I are feeling much better but finally got an appt for his dr for Monday. I called for several days but finally an opening. On Friday my husband got the oppurtunity to race one more time before the season was over. So he raced with his dad. He did awesome. He came in sixth but they only took the top 5. Proud of him. After the race he came home so we spent time together before the kiddos went to bed. Surprised when he called and said he was on the way home so early. Saturday we got up and took the kiddos to a pumpkin patch all after noon. It was fun having the kids pick out their own pumpkins walking through the patch. So funny my daughter picked out the smallest one she could find and my son totally opposite the biggest one. We rode on a hay ride and went through corn fields and a maze. They even had a petting zoo. It was just fun family time. I loved the kiddos in the wagon making memories. Can't wait to carve their pumpkins. That's the best part getting all gooey. I love fall. All the leaves start to turn, the feeling of turkeys and cooking start to buzz as we gear up for Halloween and Thanksgiving. Several people around our neighborhood decorate for fall just adds to the season.
Today was the inaugural walk for Kelsey Briggs. The little girl who lost her life to child abuse. Her precious life ended on October 11 of last year. So I took my daughter with me. My husband and son went to his mom/dad's to take the car back all afternoon. The walk was held at a park with a huge airfield surrounding it. It was a walk to raise awareness and show support for the Briggs family for KelseysPurpose. I had the oppurtunity to meet the father's family as well as meet the dad. They are all very uplifting and nice. Didn't realize until I got there that the walk itself was four miles. Good thing for strollers. I was walking along side my friend. I felt good. I wasn't out of breath when we finished little over 1 hour which I think to me is good time. The girls had fun in the strollers riding next to each other. I felt terrible for my friend, she kept saying man I am out of shape. I know that a year ago I wouldn't have made it. But today was an accomplishment. I made it without one complaint. In my mind I was thankful to be walking. This little girl who lost her life so early will never have the chance to walk again. Never be able to feel the wind blowing across her cheek. There are a lot of kids out there suffering abuse and many who tragically have lost their lives in the hands of someone. I am very thankful that I have two beautiful children who I love and adore and have a good family home life. We aren't perfect but they never have to worry about abuse. It just kills me knowing that little ones are out there suffering. Its important to get child abuse awareness out. It was a very good long walk but knowing that somewhere up in heaven she is smiling down at people fighting for her cause gives me a little peace tonight.
Tonight we cooked on the grill and let the kiddos enjoy the time outside. Nice cool down of an evening. I love watching my son he waddles over and trys new things. He loves to point. We have a neighborhood cat who just walks around well he wanted to chase the cat all over the yard tonight. Amazing how their little minds grow. The best part of my day is tucking them into bed. Rocking my baby boy watching him fall asleep and having my daughter say her prayers and ask to watch over everyone she loves just makes my day priceless. I cherish those four words always. "I love you, Mama". They are amazing little creatures. The Lord has given me special blessings my babies. I had a great Weekend. Good eating exercise and most important family time couldn't ask for anything better
