Today is Awesome!!

I have been tracking my foods for the last two weeks. Let me tell you, it has been hard to eat less calories than I am used to. I go to bed hungry almost everynight. I just keep telling myself that this is for my own good and that when I wake up I will be lighter than the day before. It has been working great and I have lost 2 lbs this week!! My goal was just one lb a week but by tracking my food, working out 5 days a week for about an hour each time and doing more around the house, it is coming all together and it is working!! I have tried the no carb diet but I could not stick with it longer than 2 weeks. I still watch my sweets but I love to eat the little dark M&M's. I keep a bowl of them out of reach of the kiddos just for me to grab a few every now and then. It really helps to have that little bit of sweetness. It is a reward for me being so good every day. We all need a little sweetness. Thanks sparkpeople for helping me along my way!!

How do you minus the calories from your workouts? It there a way to do it so that it actually comes out of my count for the day? I don't want my results to show that I am over my required calories every day even though I am not.

Hey there! Sounds like you're doing well. My suggestion would be to have a piece of fruit or a few walnuts or other type of nuts/trail mix. I've noticed that after a few bites, I'm not so hungry anymore. Also, don't forget that you need to minus the calories that you are burning in your workout and make sure you are truly getting the required amount of calories. My little indulgence is 1 Hershey's Dark Chocolate Nugget. It makes me oh so happy... :) Keep it up!

Hi there! Congrats on your hard work! When I first started tracking my food, I think I was pretty hungry and feeling like I wasn't getting enough to eat. I think overtime you will (hopefully) find that there are healthy foods that fill you up better, and that if you keep the balance of Protein/Fats/Carbs to your recommended proportions, you will be less hungry and will be able to eat within the recommended range without feeling at all deprived.

Are you getting enough fruits and veggies and whole grains? Eating enough lean protein?

    Good luck with your goals!
