So, I finally got some free moments at work to write a blog, and update you all on my life, and progress.
First, I heard this GREAT commentary on NPR a few weeks ago, about how Resistance to Change or in other words--INERTIA--is built into our universe. Really put some of this stuff in perspective, and also got me thinking that if I can build up enough momentum behind my healthy lifestyle, it'll be much more hard to stop being healthy, than to start being slovenly. LOL.
"We all know that it takes energy to get started on something, whether it's propelling yourself out of bed or propelling a rocket to Mars. What we don't tend to appreciate is how hard it is to stop what you're already doing."

I've been making Yoga more of a priority in the New Year. This morning, I was able to do something I couldn't do before--THE WHEEL! The backbend wasn't really the hard part for me, it was actually the arm strength to lift myself up off the floor. I've included a pic for you non-yogis:
It felt sooo freaking good!!! The DVD that I'm using has you go up into the wheel 3-4 times, today was only once for me, but I hope to be able to do it multiple times maybe by the end of Feb?
So how did I do on my Jan goals?
Cut out Alcohol for the month with the exception of New Year’s Eve. – Didn’t complete this one, but I have cut down significantly. I’ve noticed that my weight loss has speeded up, and that I have more energy.
1,500 minutes of fitness. – Booyeah! I totally did this.
Complete Weeks 3 - 5 of C25K – Started Week 7 this morning!
Try 4 new recipes. - Blown this one out of the water—I made a bunch of fun stuff.
Write my first short story. – This one was a bust, I wrote half a short story. I’m going to try again in Feb.
Get out of the 160’s: Yes, folks—I’m officially a member of 150-ville.
Will write my goals for Feb on Friday.... Stay Tuned. :-)
