SYB Boot Camp Results & Doctor Update
Monday, February 01, 2010
I successfully completed the 30 day SYB Boot Camp Challenge in January. My starting weight & measurements were:
Weight: 179.6 lbs.
As of January 31, my weight & measurements were:
Weight: 173.2 lbs.
Thanks to the jump start & structured workouts of the boot camp, I lost 6.4 lbs and 6 1/4". In order to keep myself motivated, I joined the Healthy Heart Challege SparkTeam run by Spark Coach Nancy in February.
I went to see my family doctor today. I reviewed my January nutrition results with her. She was pleased that I was monitoring my iron and B-12 intake, even if I wasn't within my ranges on a daily basis. I told her that I was taking my iron 3-5 days/week & my multivitamin daily. I also let her know that I am using a soy protein supplement a few days/week. During my exam, she said that my thyroid gland felt normal. Then we talked about the myriad of reasons for thyroid problems, including heredity & autoimmunity. When she wrote up my lab slip, she included ferritin stores, iron studies, TSH, T3 & T4 free, and autoimmune. The phlebotomist had a heck of a time finding my veins, but was able to get 5 tubes of blood from me. The results should be in some time this week; the doctor is going to call me to let me now what they are and her suggested course of treatment.
So for now, I keep doing what I'm doing, until I need to do something else.
