Day One of a Challenge and I Have Learned So Much!

Well....today started a new Hogwarts challenge. I had been feeling a little discouraged as I wasn't losing as much weight as I wanted. This week's challenge is to stick within your individual calorie range. I thought I was golden here. Eating Gluten Free and vegan seemed like it was lower in calories. Not quite.
I made my gf vegan mac N cheese last night, weighed and measured all the ingredients and added up the calories. If I ate half of what I made (like I usually did), I would be consuming quite a few calories. What an eye opener! So before the day began, I found one way that I was setting myself up. I have discovered ways that I need to revamp my eating to obtain my optimal health.
I woke up today with my injured knee aching like a huge bee sting. It is a sharp, electric type ache. I sprayed Biofreeze on it even before I got out of bed. I decided to listen to my body today. I am so totally glad I met my challenge last week of exercising for an hour a day for 7 days in a row. I feel like now I need to listen to my body and give myself the two built in rest days of my original plan. I spoiled myself by taking a nap with my cats this afternoon. I must have needed that. The fire in my knee had died down by this evening so I did do a half hour of light impact cardio. I want to stay in the habit of exercising...that is important to me. I just need to make sure I give myself the breaks I need.
