Small Accomplishments

Sunday, January 31, 2010

I am feeling good this week. I have been trying to eat better and be active off and on for a very long time and have very very very slowly lost weight. Two weeks ago I decided to get more serious about it all. I stopped using money as a reason not to eat healthier & stopped the millions on excuses when it came to not exercising. -- I have been eating portion sizes and using the food journal every day (even the days my internet was down I wrote it down and added to the food journal when internet was back up). I have been doing strength training 5 days a week and cardio every day. -- Because of these changes I only have to take my insulin MAYBE once a day - sometimes not at all. -- Another small accomplishment is wearing some type of shoes at all times. I was told when diagnosed with diabetes this past birthday that it is very important to wear shoes and to take care of my feet because of the diabetes. I have been one to kick off my shoes as soon as I walk in the door or at a family members house. Any time I didn't need them on they would be off (A southern girl, lol) ... well I decided that is another change I needed to make and I now wear shoes from the time I wake up until I go to bed and I realized that by doing that I am so much more active when at home. It is no big deal to get up and do my videos, get on the stationary bike or whatever. It's no big deal to just walk outside.

Anyway, these are just small accomplishments especially over this past week that I am very proud of.

HOpe everyone has had a wonderful weekend!
