Today's Goals...Starting Off Slowly...

Wednesday, January 27, 2010

I quit smoking this week. For some reason this time it is really tough. Right now I want a smoke so bad I can hardly stand it. I know it will pass in a few minutes though and I'll be fine again..

Today's goals are:

Stay Smoke Free

Eat my 5 fruits and veggies

Drink all my water

Walk for 10 minutes.

Yesterday was rough...I tracked all my food up until about 8pm at which point I had a huge binge and ate a Peanut butter and jelly sandwich, some pringles, and chocolate chip waffles. I just could not get full at all to save my life and I wanted to smoke so badly I couldn't focus.

I'm not going to beat myself up though..I dind't go to the store and buy cigarettes and that is a huge victory. After I reach 72 hours smoke free the cravings will get better and I can better focus on my food intake.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Congrats on becoming a non-smoker! I am on day 21 and I went on major cookie binges for the first week. It WILL get better. I plan for evening eating when I really want to smoke. Try apples and peanut butter or hummus and raw veg. 100 cal popcorn is good too. Way to go! Keep sparkin. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Woo Hoo...huge congratulations to you for quitting. I quit about 3 1/2 years ago. Had smoked for 35 years. I tell people every day...the biggest fear of quitting is the fear of quitting. Keep this in mind...people regret smoking every single one ever regrets quitting. It's total freedom. No more looking for matches, cigs, breath mints, etc. before going anywhere. You just GO! No more worrying about how you smell, when you can get your next cigarette, the cost...both money wise and health wise. I could go on and on. Simply put...NEVER TAKE ANOTHER PUFF and you will never smoke again. Get your "ammunition" ready. Get some healthy snacks...popcorn, baby carrots, pickles, etc. If you want to eat...make it healthy. I even cut straws in half and sucked and chewed on the. Loved my little straws. It takes care of that hand and mouth thingy. LOL And the plus...just fresh air and no calories. Found this trick on a quit smoking forum. Again...congrats on one of the best decisions you will ever make. emoticon mary
