cell phone ettiquette

Tuesday, January 26, 2010

Do you think it is rude if someone answers their cellphone while in the middle of a conversation with you? I do but wonder if I am old fashioned. To me it says, my call on the phone is more important than the time I want to spend listening to you.

Yep - very rude. I have been known to either walk off or to stare at them while they talk on the phone. If they say "Do you mind? This is a private conversation!" I say "No it's not, that's what we were having before - now you're talking in public"

If they excuse themselves with, "I'm sorry, I have to take this call" or something like that, I think it's much less rude - more like someone walking up and interupting a conversation. And, yeah, there are a few times people are wating for important calls or an emergency comes up.

Yes, I even think it is rude to wear a blue tooth device. It says, "I'm waiting for a better option".

Yes and I also think that call waiting is rude if you are the one making the phone call. I hate for someone to call me then put me on hold to answer other calls.
