Excuse Me

What ever happen to common courtesy?

I work in a grocery store and the people that come in there have got to be the rudest people any where around. We have to greet every person with in 10 feet of us. Now I know it might not happen all the time or most of the time, BUT I try to do it all the time it helps the day go by a little better.

The reason for my rant it because the other day I was down one of the aisle's in a crouched position changing prices and a customer came up to me and hit me with their cart and I hit the ground. I got up and looked at him expecting and apology. What I got was "Can I ask you a question?" "No I said you lost the ability to ask any questions when you hit me with your cart". He said, " I was trying to get your attention". "Excuse me would have worked better" and I walked away.

When I'm down one of the aisle and you can't get around me it makes me crazy that no one can say excuse me, I'd be more then happy to get out of the way. Standing behind me and breathing heavy or tapping your foot or clearing your throat is not going to get me out of the way. I don't know what your doing, you could be breathing heavy because you have a respiratory issue or your listening to the music and tapping your feet to the beat, I don't know!

Just use your words and say....Excuse me!

Thanks for letting me vent,

That's why it i so hard to keep employees in customer service jobs. People can be SO-O-O-O rude. I am glad you called them on their rudeness...not that they will learn anything from it. They probably walked away thinking..."How rude!"
