Week 4 Results

So I lost .8lbs. Almost 1lb. Not really sure how but I'll take it. I was focusing on getting the daily recommendation of servings and I did well on it all but the veggies. Ugh my Achilles heel. So that will be my focus for the upcoming week. I'm also tracking my measurements and they are also going down weekly. My next blog I will include my inches lost. I like to report these monthly.

So I also decided to lower my calories by a few. So instead 2000-2300, I will be aiming for 1800-2000. I read that the 500 increase in calories is not necessary. So maybe that will help the fat melt off.

I have to say that I do feel guilty sometimes because I think about giving up breastfeeding so I can "diet" and get this weight off RIGHT NOW. Don't worry, I'm not that selfish. At this point, I'm doing what I can and I know that once I join the gym in March that weight loss will be a little easier. Oh yeah, the gym has 2hrs of free infant care daily per person. So that will take away my excuse that no one could watch the baby.

On to another week. Also here is a picture of the little princess. She fell to sleep while reading :-)

    Good for you!! I just finished breastfeeding my 17 month old on 12-31-09...I wanted to give it up in 2010! I literally used BF as an excuse not to diet, and I ended up gaining another 10 lbs when she was 4 months until 15 months. I did not find the energy or the motivation to take care of myself until we were down to BF'ing just at bedtime only. So you ROCK that you are already on that mission. I went a whole year feeling fat and gross before I woke up and realized that no one else was doing it for me!!

    Congradulations on your success! I've been neglecting sparkpeople for a little while now but I decided to put my foot down and come back. Hopefully I can get back in the groove.

    Also just remember the reasons behind every choice and it will be hard to make the wrong decision.

    I've looked at breastfeeding as a bonus to weight loss! You get to burn an extra 300-500 calories a day by just chillin' with your little one.

    Do NOT give up breastfeeding...that is what is going to help the weight melt off!!!!!!!!!! I gained 65 pounds when I was pregnant and am still breastfeeding (my daughter is 9 months!) and I am 15 pounds lighter than my first OB appt for my pregnancy....

    You can do this...WITH the's SO good for you and it's SO good for your baby!
