Day 13...got a compliment...woohoo!
!

Monday, January 18, 2010

Today was a good day...My father-n-law came home from the hospital and I am soooo thankful for that!! I set him up a Sparkpeople account to help him and my mother-n-law with his much needed weight loss journey. I really hope it helps him!!!

I was able to get in a 30 minute walk today before I went to work!! Loved that!!!

I bought me a pedometer today that talks to me...lol. I really hope it helps me to get more steps into my day!!! I walk a lot at work and have always been curious how much I actually DO walk...prolly not as much as I think.

I was reading a few blogs today and I realized I really should be tracking my sodium intake too....WOW was I surprised at how much sodium I am eating!!!!!!!! Picked up some salt substitute today at work and gonna have to start cooking more of my own food instead of using pre-packaged foods. This will prolly help with water retention too!! The nutritional tracker is a wonderful tool....I LOVE IT!!! and the feedback it gives me!!!

Off to bed for me...work in the morning and then home to exercise!!!!

So glad my life is changing and I am excited for each new day and the challenges it holds!!!

Good job on all accounts! After you get used to the labor involved, homecooked food always tastes better (so I keep telling myself... lol) One of my goals is to cook a real dinner 6 times per week. We used to eat out or use the super super processed stuff most nights, but we're saving money now, too.

I could hear the excitement in your blog.. I'm so happy for you. I can't wait to get moved into my new place and track down my pedometer.. It's been tucked away far too long. The tracking our salt intake is worth doing. I'm going to have to do that as well. The recipes on the site are wonderful and I find myself cooking from "scratch" more now. Normally I hate cooking for one but with the extra I make I get a second dinner or I'm able to freeze the rest for another day.

I love my pedometer..(I talk to IT)..haha. So glad your father-in-law is back home. I'll bet he's happy to get out of there! I was getting too much sodium too...yup..all the pre-packaged food. Hi! Funny, My Mom got out of the hospital a last week and I set her up with an account too :-). What is that called...."Spark it Forward"? Anyway, congrats on the hard workd and the compliment. I know for myself, compliments tend to re-motivate me and when they stop coming....that is when I struggle.
