I love the streaks!

I live in So Cal. Not much rain. So my streaks for walking every day, walking 10 miles per week, walking the dog 20 minutes a day are pretty simple as long as I get up in the morning and just do it.

Well, a few days ago I noticed on Weather. com that we were looking as several days of steady rain. Yikes! What about my walks? What about my streaks? What about my team goals? What if I take a break and cannot get started again?

Yesterday, I decided that I need a plan B. It's rain. It's water dripping (or pouring) from the sky, not acid. So, why can't I walk in the rain? Get out the rain coat, and walk anyway. Once I made that decision, I felt so much better. (easy to say when it still isn't raining)

Then this morning, I got up.... it was raining. And didn't go walk right away. I said to myself, it is raining. I don't HAVE to go walk. I sat at the laptop and started my SP routine. Spin, huddle, read the blogs and message boards. And, it started to eat at me. My streaks! My teams rely on me! It is barely raining? Why aren't I out there walking?

And I got up, got dressed and me and Sheena (my faithful Sheltie and walking partner) went out in the rain and walked! My streaks are good! Walking in the rain is good! Air couldn't be any fresher.

I walked today, in the rain, when in the past I would have stayed inside on by backside. And it was all because I didn't want to let go of my streaks and team goals.

Way to go! I'm a diehard exerciser these days... streak of 30 days roughly so far - but even I would think twice about heading out in the rain! I'm so happy for you and I know you are too.

Streak on... my friend. ~ Sarah
