Chapter 2 of The Spark Building block Values and Beliefs

Chapter 2 of The Spark focuses on setting goals and it breaks them down into building blocks. The first building block is values and beliefs:
Q: What truly drives you?
A: What truly drives me is being a positive role model for my family, friends, and the children in my life. I want to be the person tha show my family that it is possible to loose the weight and keep it off. Most of my family on my dad's side is either over weight or obese and as we all know that leads to high risk of diabetes and high blood pressure which runs on my dads side of the family and countless of other problems due to being overweight and Obese. I want to be the one that teach my god kids and my daughter how to eat healthy and I don't want to see them go through the same things I had to deal with growing up. I want to be their to motivate my family to eat healthy and exercise and show them that this is not about dieting but this has to be about making a lifestyle change and that there is no shortcuts when it comes to loosing weight. I also want to motivate the kids at my job and the kids I will teach in the future to eat healthy foods and to be activate.
Q: Is there a clash between what you really believe and what you’re trying to accomplish?
A: As I see it, there are those time where i know that I want to loose weight, but I go over my calories or I don't exercise because I loose my motivation or focus.I know that in order to reach the goals i have set for myself i have to put in the work in order to recieve the results i want.
Q: Are you working each day toward something that really matters to you?
A: Yes, I am making strides to improving my health each day. Even thought i may have some off days where I don't exercise or eat like I should I am taking baby steps to improving my health and my life
