Dear Self: The Letter

Sunday, January 17, 2010

Dear Self,

The lifestyle you've grown so accustom to is no longer working for me. I mean one minute you're throwin' ya hands up "reppin" the "Big Girls"...next thing I know you're in bed crying your eyes out about how much you hate how you look.

Listen, I'm done with all of your excuses. You have been on every diet known to mankind, and they all have failed because you gave up. Ever heard the expression: "Rome wasn't built in a day"...ok..well, you know it took you longer than a day to get to the unhealthy stage you're in now, so stop expecting to see "over-night miracles". You have to learn how to take things slowly. Learn how to set REALISTIC goals. There's no way you're going to go to bed 280 lbs and wake up 140. AINT GONNA HAPPEN SISTA!!!!

Now, please dont think I'm being mean, I just can bare to see you go down the same dreadful road again. I want you to try a different path. I want you to do this for "Me". I want to live longer, love longer, laugh longer. I want you to run with your kids in the park...and go an extra hour in the bed with your man! Hey now!!!

I want to help you reverse all of the damage you've done. It's only too late when you have a tag on your toe! Got it?!!? Good.
I want you to love who you see when you look in the mirror. I want you to be comfortable walking in crowds. I want you to hold you head up high and shine like the Queen I know you are!!!! I want you to look and feel BEAUTIFUL on the inside and out.

Now, you already know the things you must let go of in order to achieve your goal and embrace your new lifestyle. So say "GOOD-BYE" to everything that had ever stopped you in the past..including fear, laziness, and negative energy.

Ok, now that you've said good-bye, I am now ready to embrace the "NEW YOU." I know you can do this, and if there is ever a time where you feel yourself slipping, reach out to your SparkFamily. That's what they are here for. For love, encouragement, support and even tough love.

So, get plenty of rest because tomorrow is THE FIRST DAY OF THE REST OF YOUR NEW LIFE!

Live Well

That is beautiful, way to go and like you said this is not just a diet you do for a couple months and quit its for life so you get healthy and stay that way.. thats my goal.. emoticon , one of my spark friends also suggested to me to write a letter to the new me and seal it, not to open it until i get there, I did that too, and it was very helpful.. emoticon emoticon
