What a difference a friend makes

Friday, January 15, 2010

Last week I was so hopeful. I had a great new year and was gung ho on getting motivated in the new year. I had only been working a couple of days and the time off rejuvenated me. I survived the first week of school (last week) and managed to stay on top of all of my goals. I even got active again with my friends

Then this week - work has been miserable. I've come home in tears on more than one occassion. No motivation to work out, eating my weakness food frozen pizza and starting to feel sick again - yes i know it is all related to stress and the fact that I'm not handling it well.

The past two days i stayed away from sparking. I just couldn't bring myself to log on after feeling so guilty for not working out and not eating right.

Then lo and behold i get a message from a friend encouraging me to log on and stay focused because these are the moments I need my sparkfriends the most - and she was right.

I took my dogs for a 45 minute walk and did my crunches and pushups to continue to work on my new year's resolution. I'm still stressed about work but feel better about myself.

So once again I have to thank Spark people for bringing such incredibly supportive people together.

I also have to give a special thanks to Kate (MEGAMITENCHI) for being a supportive friend when I needed it the most. God bless

Awwww, I didn't do anything! You are still the one who got out there and made yourself feel better. I'm just happy to have someone to talk with and share my goals and dreams ^_^ So many of my friends are too busy to care much about my going ons, so really I should be the one thanking you! emoticon

Great job C. I am new to Sparkpeople, and still have my enthusiasm. I too am in school. I hade a horrible job prior to going back to school that frequently sent me home feeling tired and trapped.

There is light at the end of the tunnel! And you have lots of friends (even new ones...) to lend an ear and help you. I know I will have my turn asking for encouragement - it is great to see how well it's working for you.

    You are an inspiration!
