Am I Cheating?

Friday, January 15, 2010

I try to get most of the SparkPoints available each day. And I want to do it the right way. I am very careful to correctly count my water and my cardio minutes. I carefully read articles I click on. If I add cardio and then delete it (say, I clicked on the incorrect miles per hour) I make up for it, because the SparkPoints don't subtract.

However, when it comes to the 3 points a day for recipes, I may be cheating. I always look for one that looks good and then save it for future use. I've made about 10 SparkRecipes over the past 3 months. A couple of them I've made more than once. However, I haven't made them all. Is this cheating?

You are not alone - I always keep the recipes I think I might like so I don't have to hunt for them when I do want to make them. I have made most of what I've saved and enjoyed most of them! Yes, I often go ahead and get the points when I'm saving the recipe.
I've also wondered about the blogs that have one emoticon - did they do that just to get points? Or what about the threads on message boards that ask you to type the next number to 100 or the next letter in the alphabet... do people do those just to get points?
In the end, we are accountable to ourselves. Like you, I read articles and blogs. I'm a stickler for making sure my exercise, water, and food trackers are accurate.
Let's forgive ourselves for the recipe points!

I don't think just reading the recipes is cheating. Some of them I read I know I would not like and I have made several I have read thinking I would like them but did not. I have also made some really good recipes from Spark.

I'm not sure whether you can cheat anyone but yourself on Sparkpoints!

I felt as if I was cheating when I got 1000 points for pre-ordering the Spark though. However, as the book has not yet reached the UK despite Amazon's pre-order info last year it doesn't look as if my conscience will be troubled by the next 1000 'easy' points for a while!

If you're cheating a little, then I'm cheating a lot. I always read the recipes, often think, okay, I'll save that one, but I have yet to make a single one, although they often give me ideas for creating my own dish. Thanks for reminding me that it's time to try them out.

Some what, but there are worse things you could do. Your just trying to get points and you are reading and searching. Your honest enough to post what your doing, so no your cheating anymore. Have A Great Day, and God Bless You!!!! emoticon
