Hi Bonnie thank for the input. I have actually done this whole thing before but the wrong way. I went right down to my absolute lowest weight (121 pounds), but I thought I could it without working out the reasons why I gained the weight in the first place. This time I am using strength training as well as having a look in the mirror for the reasons, and more how to cope without using food as my back stop.
Another reason for loosing the weight slowly this time is because we are trying to get pregnant. Last time I lost the 60 pounds (pics are in my photos) I found the scales extremely helpful to work out if I was going in the right direction.
I will loose this weight again, but in a healthy manner.
PS. the people on the biggest loser are able to lose the weight and you will be able to do it too :-)

SuzeQ, You are making great strides, but I am worried about your yo-yoing. You sound like me in thinking about those scales. I decided that I truly needed to rethink my whole approach to weight loss after reading the Spark and getting comments from other members. I felt like I knew how to lose weight and how to exercise, but I could never get the two together. Now that I am doing both, the scales are disappointing me. So I decided that the scales will no longer be my compass. The switch went off and I now understand to focus on healthy eating and exercise and to avoid the scales as my measure. Unfortunately, I am 58 years old and sad it took me so long to get it. Don't follow my footsteps. Good luck and I wish you success.
