Day 5- I may look funny, but I can feel the results...

My eating has been staying on track which I am very excited about. I'm measuring everything out on my food scale, and I'm getting in all of my water. Even an extra glass every now and then. Buying that jug thingy that holds all 8 glasses at once has made it soooo much easier. I can finish it by right before dinner time so I don't have to put that ugly thing on my table at dinner. lol I suppose if I did, I could just pour some out into a regular glass for dinner time, but like I said, I finish it before then, so it's not an issue. Plus, I've been getting extra when I take my glass of water or tea (unsweetened or with truvia, depends on my mood).
I'm not a big breakfast eater. Never have been, so I've found that drinking a Special K shake has really helped me to get "breakfast" in. I typically spend my morning, getting my kiddos up and fed, dressed, and then I'm onto laundry, etc. My daughter is homeschooled, so that takes up a LOT of my day.
Now, workouts haven't been happening. I should be exercising more, but I will say that I have tweaked some things. I must be getting some exercise out of it, because I am sore.
I read a very interesting article that said that people don't believe that housework is a form of exercise. But it is... With the new year, it's the perfect time to capitalize it. Let it be said that I am not very organized person. While my house is not a disaster, let's just say it's lived in. My goal is to get my house together, and that takes some time. Time that I could be exercising??? I'm doing both!
I'm marching in place, doing squats and leg kicks while loading the dishwasher. Same thing while doing the laundry. Marching while doing laundry is a great way to get those extra steps in towards that 10k mark. Pick up the full laundry basket for a set. Vacuum with extra gusto. Do some lunges while doing it and once again march in place. Dusting all those nooks and crannies are a great stretch. And while I haven't tried it yet, supposedly one of the best calorie burning housecleaning jobs is to hand wash a floor. My whole house is ceramic tile except for the bedrooms, and I'm sure that I could burn off quite a bit with that. (Not that I'm looking forward to it)
Just by keeping moving that's making a huge difference. Even if I want to watch a tv show, I try to do something that involves movement simultaneously. Perfect time to get in some crunches, leg lifts, wall push ups, jumping jacks, etc. I'm finding that by being creative and looking for ways to make exercise fit what you are already doing instead of trying to make myself set a special time to exercise on top of whatever else needs to be done, it works much better.
