do I get motivated again?
I understand that if I do not lose the weight and keep it off that my health will be poor. I have too high of bad cholesterol and too low of good cholesterol. My BMI puts my in the overweight category and I fee sluggish when I eat bad.
So, what do I do to change my brain to eat better and exercise more?

I mean I am 7 pounds heavier than I was in November and I can see a big difference in the way my clothes fit. 7 pounds makes a big difference!!

Help!!!

I know I have to do it myself, but...I needed to write it down to really see it.

    Lisa,

I agree the book might be a good place to find your motivation, and there are fabulous articles here on motivation and goal setting. Maybe you could set yourself up with a reward system. Perhaps you could arrange alone time, or something with your husband, for meeting goals. You put aside some money for new clothing if you lose 10 pounds or something like that. Then you could also look at the built in, or intrinsic, rewards of eating well and execise, like you will have more energy, and you will feel better about yourself. Think of living a long and healthy life for your kids, and how much you would like to be a great role model for a healthy lifestyle. I am sure if you look, the motivation is there. Once you find it, then you just need to start that momentum going again.

    Hugs,

Thanks Mary!! I need all the support I can get. You are a great help. I have been sick these last few days, managing to eat less, but have not exercised. I WILL get out there.

Thanks!! I was in a contest and money motivated me!! I stopped tracking a week after the contest ended. But, I started tracking again the last few weeks. Except the last few days. I give myself excuses!! I stoppped exercising all together. I need to walk again. I know how great I feel after a good walk...but, have not started a new walk plan... I will!!!

What insspired you to lose weight in the first place? Why do you think you started to slide? I have found in my ups and downs that sometimes I just try to make too many changes and then none of them seem to stick!!! Right now I am just focusing on tracking what I eat and on getting up earlier. I'm just starting, but I've noticed that just focusing on those is managing and I'm already feeling more motivation to make other changes(like in figuring out how to fill the time I have when I get up earlier). Anyway, I'm not sure if any of this helps, but I wish you all the luck in the world on getting back on track!
