Praying for Haiti, counting my blessings
Wednesday, January 13, 2010
I have a friend who is on a mission/work trip to Haiti right now. He is safe although his plans to come home may be altered. I praise God for his safety and I am just completely overwhelmed by the devastation of this earthquake. Haiti is already the poorest country in the Western hemisphere and now this.
So this morning I woke up to my alarm, turn on lights, booted up my laptop and worked out to a dvd, drank clean water, took a warm shower, got dressed, had a nice breakfast and headed into work (where I also have electricity, clean water, food easily accessible, no danger).
Not trying to lay a guilt trip on anybody today but let's all be thankful for what we have. Even those considered poor in the US are rich by Haiti's standards. I am thankful today for the little blessings I sometimes take for granted, and praying for those who are suffering in Haiti.
