Happy New Year! Why, yes, it *IS* the 12th already.

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

This morning was the first time I've been to the gym in 2010.

It started with having friends in town for New Year's Eve / weekend. Then I got SICK AS A DOG and spent three days on the couch begging for death. Then I went to Vegas for a conference.

Still sick.

Those three days on the couch I basically only ate toast and drank tea. At one point I was down 10 pounds. Of course that wouldn't last.

I was doing better when I got to Vegas and then, being Vegas, ate way too much. It wasn't totally off the rails but I had too much to drink one night and too much to eat several nights.

All in all, the scale this morning had me down ~2 pounds after all that.

I'll take it.

Back to the gym this morning but because i have blisters the size of, well, my feet, on my feet, running/walking wasn't an option. I went for rowing/cycling instead so I got my cardio in and then did some upper body weights to balance it out a little.

I still have a lingering cough and my feet still hurt but it's getting better with time and I'll be in town for two weeks (WEEKS?! ME?!) so I can start to get back on track.

First up, getting to the grocery store so I have something to eat in the house. Right now? Brita water, two eggs, and some ketchup.
