Follow Up - Entry 1

Sunday, January 10, 2010's been 7 days since I started my "follow through" year and goal and I can honestly say that I didn't follow through on much this week accept for writing this blog!

My week started out traveling for work on Monday - That kept me out of town until late Thursday night and then turned into a weekend full of catching up on house work, family time, bills, etc! With work and training, nutrition and working out was the farthest thing from my mind...yet still there because I was constantly telling myself just to give up and go with the flow while out of town. THAT IS NOT THE WAY I SHOULD HAVE BEEN THINKING!! I set myself up to fail. But, I did manage to get in one walk on Tuesday morning at the hotel gym and I did make an effort to pack healthy snacks for my travel to and from the location. Those were both good things - It was the eating out, eating late, and constant flow of chocolate to keep up awake that did me in!

But...NO MORE EXCUSES this week! I'm back at home and back to my normal (LOL!) routine! I stocked up at Publix, Wal-Mart, and Sams so there is no shortage of healthy food in this house! I threw out all the Christmas candy that was still lingering. And, I did a Jilian Michaels workout video this afternoon! I thought I'd kick off my week feeling good about my Sunday actions! Dinner was very healthy and very easy/quick to make so it shouldn't be hard to keep that up all week!

My mini-goal for this week is to drink 8 glasses of water each day and to join the gym.

I'll be blogging again next Sunday and will hopefully have a better success story than the one from last week!

Oh, BTW....I am up 3 pounds! Yikes! I'm hoping that some of that is because it's almost TIM...but, it could just be the horrible eating for the last few months that is finally catching up to me. I saw 180 on the scale the other day. That is 16 pounds higher than the lowest weight I had gotten down to! That is super depressing!! I said I'd NEVER gain weight again!! I remember how fun it was to go shopping and buy cute (smaller!) clothes. I can feel myself slowly slipping back into my XL stuff and it is fitting....when it used to fall off. more talking about the past - This is now and I CAN DO THIS - I WILL DO THIS!

I love to play tennis! I used to be on the tennis team in high school...probably not good anymore but it is fun! That would be great is we could start something up to meet for walks or maybe a game of tennis...There is supposed to be a new(er) nature trail/park in West Bradenton. I forget the name but I heard hat it's beautiful and has great trails for biking or walking! =)

    Good luck to you!

Thank you for reading my blog and stopping by to show support. I'm sorry I haven't really been around much, until Dec then it seemed everyone else was gone with the holidays. I finally dug myself outta the self pity hole and decided to take charge again. I'm with you, I lost 23 lbs last year and then went through the separation and filing of divorce and yep, I gained 18 of it back as well. So I can relate!

What gym are you going to join? I was thinking about joining one as well.

Anyways, did you see on the boards we have a tennis player and someone wants to get a kickball team started, someone active on B/S SPK'ers.... also I still want to do group exercises and do walks and stuff!

Hang in there, You CAN do this! You did it once you can do it again! 2010 is a NEW start, out with the old and in with the new!

When your traveling, there is a section under healthy lifestyles- the nutrition section it's called Eating Away From Home- it has great tips on what to order- when I traveled to CA I printed each one out, put them in a binder and when I knew I was eating out then I would look over that page. Just an idea!

Congrats on eating healthy and kicking the week off right!
    Have a great week!
