New Year, New Changes

This year I am watching my sodium. I have already lost 9.5 lbs. Most of which I had gained back. I have been going low sodium for a week and it is great. Many things have a lot of sodium in them that I wouldn't think of. Some of them have a great amount. I have really been watching my sodium. The Dr. has me on 2 kinds of fluid pills and I was still retaining fluid and I decided something had to change. I was shocked at how much salt and other sodium I was eating. My mother went on a low sodium diet last year and lost 80+ pounds. I decided that if she could do it, I could too. The only difference is that I know not to go too low sodium because she did. The Dr. actually told her she had to start eating some salt.
I do not expect to lose 9.5 lbs. every week. That was just inital loss, but it was a shock. My legs aren't nearly as swollen. I was relieved. Now I just have to get the Dr. to watch my fluid pills.
Another new change I am making is that I am going to college. I am just taking a couple of courses, but it is a start. I am taking a Math class and a Computer Literacy class. I start college in less than two weeks and I am excited.
The third change I am making is that I am quitting smoking. I will be grandma in 3 weeks and I am quitting smoking for the two boys that are going to be born then. I decided to quit using electronic cigarettes. They take some getting used to, but they are not bad. At least I can smoke in the car with the windows closed, as there is not any smoke, which is really good in this weather.
