Where's our Houston sunshine?

It is really, really cold today. Highly unusual for Houston. I only made a mile with the dog after work, and the last five minutes were really hard. I'm convinced it's easier to walk in 95 degree heat and 100% humidity than it is in 33 degree cold and moderate humidity. When it's hot, you can always slow down and take a break. When it's literally freezing, you better keep moving.
I read somewhere that the body burns calories to generate heat to warm itself. Does that mean my walk counts double?
