trying to get back on track

Thursday, January 07, 2010

Now that the holidays are over (thank goodness, for many reasons) I am trying to get my diet under control. I'm great in the mornings, and pretty good at packing a lunch for work (now that all the Christmas 'crap' is gone from the office). The hardest part for me is dinners and evenings. I'm pretty good at cooking fairly healthy, but portion control is a challenge because I'm tired and don't feel like being good. I've also decided to be 'wine free' for 4 weeks, until I go visit a friend for a few days. It helps keep me from snacking later in the evening. One more thing is that I am brushing my teeth right after dinner (or my healthy PM snack) to help 'remind' me that I am finished eating for the day. Don't ask about exercise right now because it is non-existent...

One step at a time. I'm easing back in myself. Let's celebrate what we do right everyday They say a person repeats the behavior that's focused on. So I choose not to focus on my shortcomings. You're doing a lot of things right!! emoticon emoticon
