4 days down, 26 to go

Wednesday, January 06, 2010

I neglected to post my starting weight & measurements before starting Day 1 of the SYB Boot Camp. So, as of 1/2/10:
Weight: 179.6 lbs.
Waist: 38"
Hips: 45"
Bicep: 12.5"
Neck: 14"
Thigh: 26"
Calf: 14.5"

Day 1 Cardio went well, but I had to modify the jumping to the low-impact version. Day 2 legs was tough. I have osteoarthritis in my knees (have since I was 16) and repetitive lunges and squats aggravate my knees. Day 3 arms was easier, but I was a bit wobbly on the balance ball. I've never incorporated a balance ball into my strength training. Day 4 ab workout on the balance ball took 2 tries to get through because I was having trouble keeping my balance on the ball. It was a good workout, but a bit precarious. The first time through, I was thankful there wasn't a camera filming me.

I've varied the 30-min cardio each day. However, I'm itching to get back out on the road and start running again. The weather here is cold (somewhere in the 30's) most days and I need to exercise indoors due to my asthma. I don't belong to a gym, though we are looking into joining the local YMCA during January. In the meantime, my running is limited to EA Active & Wii Fit. This is good for cardio, but ends up mostly being me running in place.

I'm getting better with tracking my meals. The meal plans for vegetarians have vastly improved since I first joined in 8/2008, but I still find myself needing to log food not in my plan. I've been researching meals in the Sparkrecipe section and made my own sorbet for dessert from a recipe I found there.

4 days down; bring on day 5!
