Depression and Exercise

Imagine there are two knights, one is a dark, angry, ruthless black knight and the other is a strong, bright white knight. The black knight takes over villages easily when the white knight is not called upon. People run around unsure of what to do and convinced they are helpless. Then... A single soulremembers the white knight. Everyone else says that the white knight could not possilbly defeat the black knight. That would be too simple, the black knight is far too large and seemingly powerful. That person persists and calls upon the white knight. The white knight comes the first night and keeps the black knight from doing anymore damage but does not drive him away. The village people scoff at the single soul who called the white knight and said, "See, he didn't drive the black knight away, what good is he?"

But that single soul says, "No, he did not drive the black knight away but no more lives were lost and no homes were destroyed, he kept the black knight out of our village limits." The village people scoffed and walked away.

The second night the white knight begins building a wall to make the village stronger. The black knight comes in the middle and begins to destroy the wall and the white knight pushes the black knight even further away from the village.

The following morning the towns people say, "The white knight cannot even keep the black knight away from his wall, look, it's been destroyed over there. How will he ever save our village."

The single soul said, "True, but look at that strong wall the white knight has begun, when it is completed the black knight will never get through there."

The Village folks said, "If the wall ever gets done. The white knight is only here a little while and the black knight will come to stop him every night."

That's when the single soul went over to where the white knight had stopped working on the wall and picked up the tools and began building and said, "Then we shall finish the wall, the white knight alone cannot solve this problem, but as a whole we can all save our village."

The villagers realized that what the single soul was saying was true and began helping with the wall. That day they managed to complete the wall all the way around the village. That evening they could hear the white knight keeping the black knight away outside the wall's limits.

Occasionally during one of the battles the wall would get damaged and the villagers would have to pull together and repair it before the black knight came back.

With consistent awareness, teamwork, and faith the village and the white knight were able to defeat the black knight.
