Back to Square One - getting remotivated

Wednesday, January 06, 2010

Well - I learned from my 2009 mission to loose weight that for me I have to continue to monitor my calorie intake, don't get away from exercising and when the weight starts to creap up attack it. I always learn the hard way. SP has been great and I'm looking forward to 2010 and re-dedicating myself to a healthy lifestyle. I felt I had really changed my eating habits and exercised more than I had but once I stopped monitoring I slowly went back to old habits. NOT GOOD but it taught me a lesson and I won't give up. Now I know what I need to do and I have to build a strategy to adhere to it.

Do any of you have any tips or suggestions for getting back on track and staying with it.

Good to see you again Mike. You've been missed. It's so easy to get side-tracked and slip back into the old habits. Why is that when we know how hard we worked before and, as we age, we may have to work harder? I agree with both of our dear friends here. They give excellent advice.

Glad to see you back! My tips would be to only allow yourself a treat/dessert after dinner if you have honestly tracked your calories for the day and have room for certain (that forces me to track), make the appointments for workouts like Jayne suggested - it will become a habit eventually, and challenge yourself to eat more fruits/vegetables and make healthier food choices every day.

Hang in there and way to get back on the horse!

emoticon to see you here again!

The only advice I can give you is to schedule appointments with yourself to work out until it becomes a regular habit. Hope this helps!
