Boot Camp Day 3

Tuesday, January 05, 2010

Well, yesterday's plan for an evening walk went down the tubes along with my meal plan. Buffets are just way too tempting at this stage of the game. I think that won't stop me though. Today is another day and another fresh start.

This morning's workout was good though I've always been better at working out my upper body than the lower, more meaty part. Two things were of interest to me as I went through this routine that is especially designed for the upper arms. First, I thought of Kathy Lee Giford. When she was with Regis Philbin she would soetimes mention her "bat wings" . She'd wiggle her upper arm skin as she said it. She really had skin though, not the flab that hangs off of my upper arms. Gee, if this routine really works the nurse at the doctors office will be able to go back to using the regular size blood pressure cuff on me. Now, there is a happy thought.

Now, the second thing I thought about was fallng off the stability ball. The walking out and lying back part was a little tricky. I wobbled a bit as I moved my feet gingerly out and away while rolling my back side along the ball. (Nicole does it so easily) Okay, that part wasn't so bad but, the rolling back up to sitting on theball again...that was the trick! Nicole was almost finished with the routine by the time I got back up there. The good news is I did get back up ther AND I did not fall off the ball! I guess one of my fears is falling and embarassing myself in front of a video of Nicole....LOL!

Okay today's challenge will be to try and get in 30 minutes of cardio. The plan is to get home before 5:00 so I can use the stationary bike in my apartment complex workout room. Wish me luck.

Thanks for the luck, it must have worked!
Thanks, Jen. I know it canbe done. I just didn't do it....it was one of those.."I have been good for 2 days...so a little splurge won't hurt." Not good thinking on my part.

emoticon The stability ball is tricky for sure!
I totally know what you mean about the buffet thing. I eat at Sam's Town at least twice a week. (standing dates for every Wednesday and Saturday evening) It's hard, but it CAN be done! I usually do really well with my meal choices, but then that damn dessert bar calls to me! At least they have a wide variety of sugar free items.
Anyhow--keep up the good work and good luck with the buffet!
