Continuation of 2009

Sunday, January 03, 2010

I took a break and thought that through the holidays I might have sabotaged myself. Good news, did not :) yea me :)
More good news, I met and exceeded my goal for 2009, not by much but still did it.
The journey continues though, not just maintaining. My husband has suggested that there might be more room for improvement. Another 15 pounds ... lol
I think it is doable, as I can see that there is more fat on my body and my BMI is at the high range of normal.
So, a continuation of 2009 :)
I can and will be healthy, move to a more whole food approach to my eating habits and move away from quick foods. Get my carbs from fruit and veggies, eat protein at each meal, just veggies for dip instead of crackers, have eggs and protein for breakfast and stay away from cold cereal and toast ... the list goes on but for me it is to remember that I can do this. It has taken 3 years to lose 60 pounds, it's not a race but a steady paced jog with the finish line in sight, but I must resist the urge to do whatever it takes to win and stick to tried and true strategies instead of quick fixes.
Another item that I must take very seriously is my B12 deficiency ... My Dr said a range of 900 to 950 is healthy, mine is at 149, so I have to supplement daily with B12 strips. Have to have a blood test in a month to see if these are helping, if not .... shots it is :( Now that I know that my symptoms are not due to old age (at 47 lol) I can adapt to offset the short term set backs knowing that in a few months my memory will return, my feet won't fall asleep while I work out and my exhaustion will diminish.
I am hoping for better health, more gym time and kids moving out ... lmao ... thought I would try to sneak that one in :)

I want to thank my spark freinds for all their support and love through the holidays and wish them bountiful good things and health for 2010 :)

By for now and talk to you all tomorrow :)

How great that you met your '09 goals. Being in the healthy BMI is a pretty big deal. The whole BMI thing seems to not take into account each person's bone mass or general body shape. If I got into the low end of the "healthy" bmi, I would look anorexic. I'm definitely looking forward to getting into it (7 or so more pounds to go), but I'm for sure not trying to get into the lower end of it cause thats not realistic for my body. How wonderful you look in your own healthy bmi.

I'm so proud of you for having met your 2009 goal, That's wonderful!!
You should have bought your hubby a muzzle for the holidays, LOL.

I was getting tingling in my feet and the doctor did blood work and I
am also deficient in B-12. I've been using a daily sublingual (under the tongue)

blessings, and keep up the good work! Sue
