Bootcamp Day 1, The Harsh Reality

Today is day one of the Spark Your Body Bootcamp and I decided to try on my bathing suit just so I could have a frame of reference to see if I have made progress by the end of the program.

Well, I was completely shocked at just how much of me bulged out of the edges of the suit! I have three swimsuits and I thought that this one suited me the best. Yikes! I decided to snap a couple of pictures and if all goes well you'll see some improved "after" photos in about a month.

I was up a little bit on my weekly weigh in, but I know that I haven't done 2 pounds worth of overindulging this week, so I'm guessing it's due to retained water. I'll be extra careful about my salt intake for a couple of days and see if that helps.

So here are my "before" photos. I am sharing these with the hope that it will keep me accountable.

    Congrats on posting your pictures. They will help motivate you to work hard in the challenge. I just posted pictures of me on a blog for my Biggest Loser Challenge on another team. I was, shall we say, less than happy with the bulges I saw! We will use these pictures to propel us to succeed. You Go Girl!!! emoticon

    I think you're very brave to post photos of you in your swimsuit. I took some photos of myself in my swimsuit back in the summer, but there's no way I'd post them for all the world to see!

    Watching your sodium intake is a great idea, as that can make a huge difference to your weight loss. I find it difficult to keep mine below the RDA upper limit, as I eat bread every day, and 2 slices = 800mg, which is 1/3 of your RDA. Even vegetables and milk contain sodium, so it doesn't take very much to push past the 2400mg barrier. I wish you the best of luck with that.

    I haven't done my Day 1 of Bootcamp yet, as I've been out all day, but I'm planning on doing it soon. Only problem is, I pulled my back a little when I was pushing a shopping trolley through the snow to my car earlier on. It didn't hurt at the time, but it's starting to bother me now. I hope it doesn't come to anything, so keep your fingers crossed for me!

    emoticon you are braver than I. I took the pictures (not in a swimsuit mind you), but I'm too chicken to post. I do, however, have them on my laptop so each and every day I can look at myself. If that doesn't get me up and moving....I don't know what will.
    Can't wait to see the 'after' pics.

    at a fierce and brave thing to do - to take photographic documentation and to SHARE !! Thank you so much!

    I wish I could send a bit of my toddler to you. Imagine this, a woman older, significantly heavier and lumpier than, as I put on my swimsuit for the first time in years (to try out my sister's new hot tub) he remarked (in ALL sincerity) : look so beautiful! he rushed and gave me a hug.

    Mind you, this is a (very VERY young) person who has yet to be hardwired with all the social "norms" of what we learn beauty is. In his very innocent mind all he saw was his mom trying something new.

    In every way that I can, I bottle that up and send it to you. You are beautiful! Let that statement resound and fuel you on your journey to health and wellness.
