2010 Food and Nutrition goals

Well, I'm going to strive to NOT go over 1200 calories per day. I have done absolutely HORRIBLE since the end of July about that. I have had no will power at all and managed to gain all the weight and then a few pounds more that I worked so hard all spring and summer to get off. Ugh....irritates me. The past few months have been hard in relation to my RA being so bad and the pain almost overtaking my life. Not to mention that my thyroid problem makes it super easy to pile on the pounds and near impossible to get it off. But, I should have known better to overindulge like I did.
I'm going to also focus on eating more veggies. I love the food steamer my mom got me for Christmas and it's so easy to fix fresh veggies on it and they are so good like that. I didn't realize what I was missing by not having a food steamer.
I'm also going to focus on eating lean meats such as chicken and fish, which I'll steam on my steamer also.
I'm going to eat only good carbs and in moderation, making sure I eat a lot of veggies and lean protein with it.
I'm also planning on snacking twice daily to keep me less likely to overeat. I'll focus on something filling like string cheese, veggies and hummus, etc. I'm going to incorporate eating hot air popped popcorn with a cup of sugar free, fat free hot cocoa for my dessert at night. I've found that to finish off my day nicely here lately. The popcorn only has 15 calories per popped cup and it is so high in fiber that it helps keep me from wanting food late at night, which is a problem for me.
So, those are my food and nutrition goals. I'm really trying to set my mind to eating like I should and like I love to, rather than eating to be eating and pigging out b/c I'm feeling sorry for myself!
