Day one!

Wednesday, December 30, 2009

Just a quick blog here. So, I didn't eat the best...mostly because I was at the mercy of the cafeteria's lunch and the options were bad, worse, worst. I went with bad, and tried not to think about it too hard, lest I hear my arteries clog and my heart seize on the spot.

I talked the hubs into an after work gym date. After warming up, I did lower body strength and abs. I planned to try a little arm stuff, but my neck/arms/hands were just too bad today, and proceed to feel worse as I was at the gym. I opted to do my cardio on the bike, since it required nothing on the part of my arms, and gave my back some support. I stretched, and we went to dinner. I had a falafel wrap, and I really need to remember to order it without onions. Raw onions don't like me so much, and it seems to get worse as time goes on. I also should learn how to make falafel. So tasty!!

I managed to go with only two cups of coffee today! One at work, one at dinner...and I didn't even drink the whole cup at dinner. I am at six glasses of water for the day, which is a lot for me. I am hoping to squeeze two more in while I cuddle with my ginger kitty.

I am also hoping to get the hubs to go on more gym dates with me. Like, three a week. I think it would be good for both of us. He doesn't like the little tummy he's got now, and needs more energy. Plus, if I agree to go with him, I think both of us are less likely to back out. Oh, and while at my parents' over the holiday, some old photo albums came out. There were several shots of my sis and bro-in-law when they were younger. I was reminded, yet again, that my bro-in-law was the same size as G when he married my sister. He is now a XXL. I told G that while I will always love him, I would prefer that he remain the slim guy I married rather than gain 50 pounds or more. I think he prefers that, too. Hopefully, seeing proof of the possibilities will help motivate him.

Well, I am gonna heat up some water and find that ginger! Have a lovely Wednesday evening all!!!

I agree, having a workout buddy is so much better. I wish I could get DH to go to the gym with me, but he's not much on anything but running. Oh well.

I love falafel! But I'm too lazy to make my own when there are so many good meditterranean restaurants where I live, lol.

Have a workout buddy makes it so much better. More accountability and often more fun. I hired a personal trainer so that someone would know if I bailed and didn't show. That's often enough to get me out of bed! emoticon
