feeling less awful today

Friday, December 18, 2009

To say I feel better wouldn't quite be truthful, but I do see improvement. Using eletric scooter at grocery store is not quite as embarassing as it has been. Starting to figure out how I'm going to live with this disease. Still missing my old life. On the eating front, things are going well. I'm going to try eating more calories earlier in the day to keep from overeating in the evening. Last night had BLT on wheat and yogurt, only to eat a chicken breast and creamy rice an hour later ( my kids dinner that they didn't eat all of )

I'm glad you are seeing improvement and hope you continue to do so.
I don't think you should feel at all embarrassed about using the scooter at the grocery store! It's there for the purpose of providing help for people who need it - you need it, so it's there for you!
I get so frustrated when people give me "that look" when I park in a handicapped space, even though the tag is clearly hanging from my mirror! I may look like I'm just fine, but they don't know how my leg will completely give out and I'll barely be able to walk or when I'll suddenly be unable to breathe and gasping for air. I don't park in the spaces on "good" days, but I have to at times. People are just too judgemental without knowing the entire circumstances.
    Stay focused, determined, and positive.
