Rewarding myself...

Friday, December 18, 2009

Today I'm rewarding myself with an at home spa day. I haven't lost any weight or reached any fitness goals this week, but this morning I realized that I deserve a reward anyway! I've been through a bit of a difficult time lately and I'm getting myself back on track. I can feel some momentum building up already!

I often withhold rewards from myself until I reach a significant milestone, or else I reward myself, but feel guilty about it the whole time. Well, not today. Just showing up and making an effort is enough. I'm going to ignore the housework and the unwrapped Christmas gifts. I'm going to soak in the tub with some lovely bubbles, scrub every body part I can think of, slather my face in expensive masks and creams. I'm going to paint my nails in a fun colour and watch the backlog of tv shows that I have taped over the past few weeks.

And I'm going to enjoy every minute of it!

Way to go girl! You are right to reward yourself for doing the things that you know you need to do and not holding out till you hit the milestone. Too many do just that and by the time they reach that milestone find their motivation faltering. I try and get a little "ME" time each weekend for a job well done during the week. It can keep you going so you can reach those milestones without giving up on yourself. You are doing great! emoticon
