Day 33 - A long 2 days
Wednesday, December 16, 2009
I had a pretty good reason for not blogging last night. I was collecting all my trash and managed to cut my finger really badly - it bled for about 45 minutes until I managed to get a steri-strip and 2 bandaids on it. Yech! And it's my right index finger - important for mousing and keyboarding.
The washer - I did a hand wash last night - socks & undies - which takes the desperateness out of not having a functional washer. Got a recommendation for a repair person who it turns out no longer services my neighborhood because the guy who did that moved to Virginia. Came home last night and got a list of 4 service repair places from a group I use that is sort of like Consumer Reports for the Philadelphia area. Was planning to call them today. Had PT this morning [more on that later]. My PT said that if it was the bearing I'd probably need to replace the whole housing which would cost more than a new washer. Yikes! So I thought I'd break down and buy a new one. Got to work and someone told me they had a great service repair person. So I flip-flopped again and got their number. I had finally measured the washer this morning and went out to the website to see if the washer I was interested in would fit. Yes AND they are having a 10% sale on it through tomorrow. Oy! Then the repair person got back to me. They can't look at it until next week. So that did it. I am buying a new washer tomorrow. While I am at it, I'm getting a chest freezer. Who me? Overly influenced by others?
Back to the PT part of the story. There was a mixup and forms that I was supposed to fill out were not filled out until 4 weeks into PT. So the insurance company decided they would cover the PT but only from when the forms were filled out - despite the fact that 1) I had a diagnosis from my doctor and a prescription for PT and 2) I am going to an in-network PT place. I see many phone calls in my future and voicemail hell.
I think I'll stop there. Haven't gotten enough slip the last 3 nights. Going to bed.
Tomorrow is another day.
