so i've been lifting heavier with chalean extreme (well i've taken the past few days off of upper body because of pain in the shoulders) but while doing my first round of chalean extreme, chalene said how the heavy weights will send metabolism into overdrive and you will be hungry all the time & that's toally normal
while working out, moreso lately then ever i have been extra cautious about following the "eat clean diet" principles (check out tosca reno's books if you haven't. she is amazing)..this is such a great way of eating- nothing artifical or processed...with the exception of my p90x protein bars (sorry, they are like candy, i can't [or won't] give them up), the click espresso drink & laughing cow cheese wedge here & there (see below)
but i really have been eating 90% clean or more- ESPECIALLY in the last week.
from last friday to today, i'm down 2 lbs. whoa. that rocks.
but here is what i notice- i'm hungry all the flippin' time!! seriously, i've been eating no more then every 2.5 hours (and sometimes hungry before that!) and eating more then i was eating in months (within recommend portions of course)...even a friend said "you eat nonstop"- it's true lol...
now i am not complaining that i am eating nonstop & losing weight/toning up at the same time...because man, I LOVE EATING (who doesn't?)..in fact, i kinda like that i am getting to eat like a healthy garbage disposal.
but i'm FUELING my body with yummy foods that are super nutrient dense & good for me...my body is using what i give it to work properly & function...i forgot where i read/saw it this week, probably on the CLX dvds but chalene said "you wouldn't fuel your car with dirty gas for it to run, why fuel your body with dirty food?"..that kind of stuck with me.
so again, i'm consuming mostly clean food & high protein...the protein is mainly from seafood, protein powder, and some white meat but not much at all...alsono dairy with the exception of a laughing cow cheese wedge to hold my salmon, celery & carrots together (that wedge might not be "clean" either..but it's so miniscual in the big picture of my diet)...
I'M SHRINKING....i can actually see & feel a difference in my stomach flatness wise..my body all around is getting tighter pretty fast, my skin looks better & my mood for the most part has been less cranky.
i think the non dairy thing really plays a big part in my flat stomach, i really do.
now, if anyone is wondering about how i am dealing with my gigantic sweet tooth & eating clean, i either have a couple squares dark chocolate or order the raw snacks off oneluckyduck.com...yes they are pricey, but they are 100% all real, natural good ingredients so worth the price to me....their chocolate macaroons are KILLER...one a night after dinner keeps me happy...
and what if i crave ice cream as a treat? i got a coconut milk based one from this brand called purely decadent..it's delicious, it's not 100&% clean but has better ingredients then regular ice cream and no dairy. score.
i'm happy with the results my body is producing...the consistent exercise with great programs & good eating really is doing wonders
...i might get to my goal with how i want my body to look after my next round of CLX, providing my stupid shoulders stop acting up.
so yes, i am losing weight and getting in better shape between thanksgiving & Christmas...why wait til 2010 when i can do it now? **Note to self: re-read this blog Christmas Eve morning & don't ruin your flatter stomach & how amazing you feel over stupid desserts that will only take good for a few minutes.**
