Finally as promised...

Monday, December 07, 2009

I got this photo from the weather network site. I did not take it. It was taken on Dec. 2 in my town. This is our weather now. It's not terribly cold... 28 F and it is sunny.

Well, I promised a blog at the beginning of December and I'm finally getting around to writing one. We went to visit my mom and our friends on Saturday. This did not turn out so well...

We met our friends for coffee. They were tired and had their two kids with them who were tired and cranky. Then we were going out for dinner at Swiss Chalet. They arrived there first and decided it was too crowded so they wanted to eat at a fast-food place.

I was STRESSED because I hate fast food... Won't waste my calories on it. I think it's disgusting!! I haven't eaten true fast food (burgers, tacos etc.) in more than 5 years. So we went over there and I had a diet Pepsi... Now, my friend was mad because I wasn't eating... I seriously just couldn't! I didn't want to make her feel bad, but I react badly to being stressed and one of the ways I react is to be more rigid about my choices and decisions because it's a way of maintaining control. I think it's a problem...

Anyway, I hope we got it all smoothed over... After they left DH and I went to have a decent meal at Montana's - I had roasted chicken... It was delicious!! Our new "go to" place I think.

I get sooo stressed whenever we go out of town like that... my favourite time of the whole trip is when we are having our breakfast out just before we leave town!

When I got home I checked my calories on Spark... don't think I went over calories at all! Even with the big pancake breakfast! It was 1000 cal, but it was a high-cal day and I just ate less for dinner.

You do live in a beautiful place. Always take time to enjoy it.

As for the fast food place, well I have an issue with that too. I think it is quite selfish for someone to insist that you go somewhere that offers nothing that you will eat. I'm glad you found a good place to go afterward.

I can't blame you I get the same way if we go out to dinner with my husband's family who always pick crap food places I sit there and pick at my food and be grumpy. Stinks. Good for you for sticking to it.

I think you should stick to your guns. It is so hard to stay on track in fast food situations. I'm glad you had a good meal afterwards.

I HATE, HATE, HATE when people put you in a situation where you seem destined to fail. My family does this often. At work I run into this as well 'oh its just ONE meal..come on!' God, it's annoying.

Good job sticking with your guns!!

Oh I get the same way! I get so stubborn. And I would rather just have the soda and have no one point it out than to order something I don't want to eat anyway and end up throwing it out! Ugh. I totally understand. This is stressing me just thinking about it! Haha. Have a good week!!!
