Day 23 - Grounding myself

Sunday, December 06, 2009

I haven't blogged for 2 days. For the last week, I've been consumed with making stuff for the craft fair I did today. This is a pattern for me. Procrastination followed by frenetic rushing. It is unhealthy.

I need to plan how to be more balanced. I will do that THIS week.

I got to meet MEOWMAMA3 which was fabulous. Now I have 2 live Spark Friends.

I'm doing the Winter Challenge and this week's interteam challenge is to eat at the low end of my calorie range. I have not done well so far. Today I did really well during the day. I knew there would be latkes at the craft fair so I ate a very good breakfast and brought a bunch of healthy food with me. It was this evening that I just ate too much.

The pain in my hip, I think, is slightly better. It's still a long journey.

One day at a time

It was so much fun meeting you today!

Recognizing those unhealthy patterns is so crucial to overcoming them. I, too, am a procrastinator. A procrastinator who rationalizes and calls it prioritizing....

My plan to try to tighten up the program this week, as we inch closer to those holiday temptations is to make myself more accountable for self-improvement. I made 3 Spark goals for this week and typed up a chart to track.

    1. eat fresh fruit daily with each breakfast (usually oatmeal, yogurt or Cheerios) . (I have oranges, fresh pineapple, apples and bananas in the house).

    2. do a Richard Simmons tape, NO EXCUSES, at least 2 x. Stability ball and resistance band exercises 2 x for 30 minutes.

    3. do 45 (dedicated) minutes of housecleaning (above and beyond the dishes) every evening this week. (I'm motivated by holiday decorating, which should make this one easier!

It IS a long journey, and hard work, but we're worth it!
    Here's to a productive and pain-free week!

Pesha, you and I are alike when it comes to the procrastination thing when it comes to making stuff. "Procrastination" is my middle name. I also plan on being more balanced, but somehow, I end up following my old ways.

So cool that you got to meet Meowmama3! It is such a treat to meet Spark friends in real life.

I am glad that your hip is slightly better - hopefully with each day it will steadily improve.
