Making a difference

When I started this life style change in January I really wanted to make a difference.
I wanted to look in a mirror and not cry
I wanted to stop health issues before they became a major issue
I wanted to not huff and puff every time I did anything physical
And I wanted to feel that I was worthwhile
In the months since I started with Spark people ...
I have found my self worth
I have managed to smile at the girl in the mirror
I have become healthier
I can now walk, run, do Aerobics and lift weights with out thinking I am going to pass out from lack of oxygen.
But it was this past week when my step daughter announced that she has listed her career choices at school and her first choice is to become a personal trainer.
And then when watching my son prepare and pack his school lunch, to see him cutting up carrots and celery for snacks and putting in his frozen yogurt next to his sandwich (not a packet of crisps in sight) ...
That I thought I really am making a difference ... Not just to my lifestyle but by setting a good example I feel have made a difference to my children's life style choices.
