Excuse me...but what the???

So today was my weigh-in, and I was pretty psyched since I had stuck to my calorie count, and did 20 carbs per day. Plus I worked out almost every day. I felt leaner, my pants felt a little better...I was good to go!! So I hopped on that scale with the grace of a gazelle (had to put that in to sound poetic) and voila! SAME AS LAST WEEK!!?? I did transgress on Thanksgiving, but one day should not wipe out a whole week of hard work. I guess I should (shouldn't?)also mention my period started the day before (and what is up with that?? Still have those!!) , so I can probably rationalize that it is wreaking havoc...but I don't know. Still...my normal MO would have been to say f**k it..and made all this the reason to blow the day...but I didn't. I WILL persist! emoticon

    Sometimes when you build muscle, you lose INCHES but not POUNDS. Take your measurements - I've had months when I lost inches (like 2 whole inches in my waist) but didn't change at all weight-wise.

    Use those clothes and a tape measure as another way to track your success.

    Its not all about those scales! Try keeping a diary of body measurements too.......... thats the true sign of success!

    emoticon with NOT giving up!! I know how you feel Happen the same for me on my Monday weigh-in... I did soo good on Thanksgiving but... the scale was the same as the week before!

    Throw the scale out and focus on the progress you are making by how you feel in the clothes you wear ~ that is your true measurement. You are doing AWESOME ~ Keep the focus!!!

    well Period can make u bloat..sometimes even a 5lb increase and sometimes inch loss is possible before weight loss so dont give up coz its a healthy lifestyle change too

    So glad to hear that you will persist. I thought that I didn't splug too much on Thanksgiving as well but when I weighed myself I actually put on 2 pounds. I think also has to do with salt content and water weight. I also persisted and got right back on plan the next day and as of today, a week later I have lost the 2 pounds. I try not to let the scale be my only way of feeling good about the healthy new way I am eating. Perhaps you too can focus on how much better you are feeling. Eventually the scale will move. Keep the faith!

    I don't know what the problem is. I don't do carb restrictive diet. But I remember back in the Atkins days, you could not take a break day because it upset the whole mechanism. Maybe the Thanksgiving dinner did that.
