Calendars...

Last night I sat here thinking. How can I get it through Matt's head that this is something that is a priority to me. So I made a calendar and a week planner sheet on my computer. The monthly calendar page shows all our appointments. The weekly calendar shows when I want to get certain things done:

7-8 am walk
8:30-9 am breakfast (for both me and the kiddos)
9:30-10:30 am school work
11 am-12 pm Wii workout
12:30- 1 pm lunch
1 pm- 4 pm appointments (or free time when no appointments)
5-6 pm Dinner
6:30-7:30 Family time
8 pm Dishes
8:30-10:30 pm Free time
11 pm Bed

I have it hanging on the refrigerator where it cannot be missed. We even talked last night in bed and I told him that I like to walk in the mornings because it helps to give me energy and makes me feel better for the rest of my day. He said that it is not that he fears that I will leave him if I lose weight. I would hope that he knows better. He did say that he would have to start thinking of me walking as more of a priority as this is a priority to me. So hopefully things will get turned around for the better here real soon.

    Great idea and you are doing right to start communicating early. We've been together almost 53 years so it's a little late for me, but dh is pretty supportive on weight and fitness. Anyhow, I am going to do your calendar thing as much for me as him.

    Another calendar thing I did was print out the DP Dec. calendar "31 days to Healthy Holidays." One for our fridge and 25 to take to my club as our holiday card. I put our Merry Christmas Message on the back so I could fold it in thirds and pass out to my friends. I think they will like it. Also, I put .com after the words SparkPeople on the calendar in case anyone wants to check the origin of the good ideas on the SP calendar.
