Cuttin' and Scratchin'

My wife bought me the new DJ Hero game for the PS3. I'm really liking it so far. I wish they would release some of the mixes for audio download because it would make some really good exercise music. I would have bought a Wii workout game but as it is I'm too heavy for the balance board and the store I was at didn't carry the Gold's Gym game. I'm still not too sure on what I think about mixing exercise and video games. It just doesn't seem right to me :)

My wife and I also found a good way that we can both get out and walk. We have the two older kids bundle up in a bike trailer that we can convert into a stroller and then take the newborn in her stroller. It's too bad the sidewalks aren't a little wider but there's area we can walk side by side on the road without getting hit. We did 6 miles this weekend. Not too shabby.

Of course then I ruined it by going to my grandma's and eating a little too much. I told my grandma (the fad diet queen) about how I'm losing weight and counting calories, etc and she seems a little dissmissive of it. I'm not sure if she's jealous that I've lost the little bit I've lost easily enough or if she's just messing with me, but I think MY way of doing it is a lot healthier than trying (and failing) at doing it the Atkins way.

I love to walk, finding a way to get your kids involved is great! What a fun family outing. Good for you. Having your spouse doing this with you makes it so much easier!

My grandma was iffy about signing up to spark people, until I walked in yesterday and she couldn't believe how much better I looked. She explained to me that it was the "internet" thing that bothered her about it. She still doesn't trust the internet lol

As for exercise games, I just found the EA Active: More workouts while fiddling at blockbuster and it seems to be a neat little thing. They keep track of everything like spark, and they have the boxing, crunches, all kinds of things, plus a 6 week challenge. I'm going to give it a shot this week and see if it's worth purchasing. If you google it it'll come up on EA's website.

Good luck on your journey, you're doing great!
