Hi everyone! I just want to say thank you to everyone for welcoming me back and for all of your support! Yesterday went fairly well and was an eye-opening experience for me. I watched football all day with my boyfriend and normally I eat chips, popcorn, and whatever other junk food I can get my hands on during the games. Well yesterday, we had pizza (we're vegetarians so it was a soy cheese pizza) and I made sure to have only a couple of slices, paired with a HUGE salad that I made myself so that I could control the amount of dressing I put on it. While that was a GREAT first step, I know I can go even further today. I'm going to continue to track every bite I put in my mouth because yesterday, in snacks alone, I consumed 450 calories (and those were HEALTHY snacks!) I had my daughter 7 months ago and am still nursing her so I realize that I need extra calories for her but those calories can just as easily come from fruits and veggies as from granola you know? For the first time in my life this journey is not strictly about weight loss for me. I have a daughter now and I want to be a HEALTHY role model for her. I don't want her growing up to see mommy binge eating but I also want her to know that any food is okay in moderation, which is why sparkpeople's so great. Through planning and tracking my meals I can figure out just how many calories I have left over for a treat each day. So I will continue to track and blog and I'll keep you updated on my progress. Take care everyone, have a blessed day!
