Tried out a Zumba class today. Thought it would count as my cardio minutes for today.
It amazing how advertising hypes things up. I found it underwhelming and needed to do some HIT on the elliptical after in order to feel decently worked out.
Actually this is not a complaint. It is a good thing.
I must be fitter than I thought I was. This time last year I know I would have been finished after the first 15 minutes of the class. It is quite motivating to find little surprises like this. It is about keeping the commitment on a daily basis.

Wow! You must be in terrific shape! I love Zumba and sweat my butt off during class! I don't get to class much any more but I'm hoping I will be able to get back to it regularly after the holidays and life slows down. In the meantime, I'm on the treadmill.

    take care,

I hope my comment blog has not put people off Zumba classes. I can see why many people would like it. It is fun to move/dance to the music. For me personally though, it didn't do the job of a good cardio workout. I really do like the feeling you get after a decent cardio workout. Tabata training does it for me.

But did you enjoy it just for the fun of it? I have a friend who does it and loves it so much. She bought special zumba shoes even.

I haven't seen a class offered here where I live.

Congrats on being fit enough for it to not tire you out. Maybe they come in levels and you will find a more challenging class.

Smart to try everything to see whay works for your body. Out with Zumba, in with something else.
