Alpha-female update.

Thursday, November 12, 2009

Had fun at dinner last night. Lots of laughs.
She did all the ordering and bossing around. I took it all in.

But here's what I mean about the extra work you have to do with A-type people.

Set up: This is a pretty woman who has professional photos of herself in the bio of her business website. No problem there. Then, out of the blue, she ask me:

Her: "Do I look as nice in person as I do on my website?"
Me, caught off guard by such a weird question: "Uh yes."
Her: "You're supposed to say 'You look even BETTER!'"
Me: "Well, now that you say that, I agree, that's a better response. But my Chesseball-filter surpresses me from saying corny lines like that. Plus, I'm not used to people fishing for compliments."

Luckily she laughed, because she WAS totally fishing for a compliment. Ha! Oh well, I'm slow.

She even picked up the tab. How bout THEM apples. I can't think of the last time someone treated me. :)

In other news, had a nice sin-shiney walk to Subway today.

Peace, all.

I wouldn't fish for compliments (I hope) but man, if I did, your response would have had me laughing out loud. (I hope it embarrassed her just a little bit.) I hope Miss Platinum Amex changes your no-Thanksgiving plans, pronto. :)

I love your blogs. You totally crack me up. And your answer to her question was priceless. Say it like it is. Good for you. Ha!

Odd question from her though. Maybe she isn't as A-type as she would like to project?

LOL...this gave me a did some of the comments...mostly because VEEJAY3's description of this A-type women so describes my typical work attire! LOL ( I had no idea that I fit a type so well)

Strange thing is, usually the A-types don't dig for compliments because they're already pretty confident about things....seems like maybe there's a few insecurities there and she might have a softer side :)

That is hilarious! I never know what to do with people like that.. when they so blatantly dig for compliments!

Although I have to admit, I've said similar things in flirting situations -- not quite that extreme, of course, and of course at the moment I can't think of an example lol! Perhaps she was just being very flirty ;)

at least you got a free meal!

hahahaha! I have a mental picture of this uber-achiever. Don't send me her Professional Bio Website Complete With Pictures, because I like my version of her. Really pointy shoes. Pencil skirt suit. One of those leather "portfolio" purses that can hold her business files ... along with her platinum AmEx.

Stick around and raise children with her, and you'll be attending their polo matches!
