Quality Time with the Treadmill

I've been lazy. I've done 15 minutes on the elliptical and hoisted a dumbbell over my head and called it a workout. Or maybe 30 minutes on the treadmill that was mostly walking with some jogging thrown in. I take a class every once in awhile when I'm in town and maybe throw in a proper workout on my own every once in awhile. It hasn't been enough.
This morning I did a full hour on the treadmill, running 40 minutes of it. It felt good, surprisingly. I'm starting back on intervals to build up some stamina so I'm walking one minute out of every five, then the last ten minutes were walking and cooling down.
I'm feeling pretty dedicated at the moment so I'm hoping this'll stay. To be honest, I don't know that it's dedication so much as horror that I've let myself gain this weight back. But if that's what it takes to get my ass back to the gym, I'll take it.
I got some good food at the store yesterday so I'm going to try to eat well even over the weekend. And my weekend project is cleaning up the garage which I'm sure will entail significant amounts of lifting and stretching so it's kind of an added workout.
Overall, then, I have to say I'm feeling pretty good about being back on track. 'Bout damn time.
