Two months down and still going strong

Sunday, November 01, 2009

With the exception of my dad's birthday (when I had a sliver of cake) and my weekend in San Francisco, I have faithfully stuck with the low carb lifestyle. I've been able to find replacements for some of my fall favorites. When I want hot cocoa by the fire, I found sugar free decaf cafe mocha by general foods and it is yummy. I have other special treats that I keep in my car so I have to really want them to go get them (sugar free Oreos - 3carbs per cookie). Kroger has brought back low carb yogurt, which has been great for my morning snack when I'm at a school.

I am almost to my interim goal - 4 more pounds by Nov. 15th. Feeling hopeful that this will happen.

Oy! Not sure I'll ever do a full marathon. NY would be cool but very hard to get in to - another lottery or you have to qualify by time prior (for example Nike was a NY qualifying race). Also, my irrational fear of bridges pretty much takes me out of it. There's no way I could go across 5 of them.

The one I'd like to do is the Marine Corps Marathon - just happened last week. It's in DC and you go all around the city and the sites. You have 7.5 hours to complete. The only prob is that it's so close to Nike and I want to do it at least once more for an even 5 charms.

You are doing really great. Way to go on skipping the halloween treats. They have been my nemesis since getting back from SFO.

Have you tried the cocoa dusted almonds? There are some online recipes and stuff, but I just buy them at the grocery store when I can find them. They are my saving grace today as I am detoxing off sugar.

I have to tell you, I am entertaining a completely insane thought....... NY Marathon 2010. Kick off my countdown to age 40 and then go celebrate it (ok, so it's 6 weeks after my bday, but still close enough) in style......
